Hi Home Team,
I was curious and wanted to ask you if you could tell me the difference between a real ...
Good Afternoon Linda,
Thank you for asking, It can be confusing sometimes when you start to deal with a broker and agent.
We have actually posted a blog about this you can find here.
What's the difference between a real estate broker and a real estate agent?
But here is a short and sweet side,
The state of Texas requires real estate agents to be licensed by the state, so that they can control education and experience requirements and also to have a central authority to resolve consumer problems.
Brokers are generally required to have more education and experience than real estate agents. A broker can deal directly with home buyers and sellers, or can have a staff agents working for him or her.
The person you normally deal with is a real estate agent or salesperson. The salesperson is licensed by the state, but must work for a broker. All listings are placed in the broker's name, not the salesperson's.
Hope that helps clarify things. If you have any other questions feel free to ask.
Thanks
The Home Team
